RING 22 would like to extend a super "THANK YOU" to all of our amazing volunteers from RING 22 who performed at Temple Israel's annual Labor Day Picnic. Representing our membership, no less than TEN magicians thrilled audiences of all ages throughout the day - even performing BEFORE and AFTER the event (now that's dedication!). EVERYONE had a blast, and best of all, Temple Israel (located in nearby West Bloomfield) has made a substantial financial contribution to our club, making it possible for us to host more terrific Guest Lectures and other activities in the future! Of course, we'll back next year; remember, ALL members and guests are welcome to perform at this wonderful family event - please keep it in mind for next year. In the meantime, check out the photos below to see a few of our club magicians in action!
Performers, listed in alphabetical order: Bill Brang, Ken Cook, Ken Foley, Mark Kandel, Benny Kirshner, Fred Lenter, Johnny NewYork, Robert Purcell, Carol Trusk (not shown in Gallery), and Bob Whitford!
Dave Schneider, the owner/founder of ABC Magic & Entertainment and a professional magician and part of the magic community for over 20 years, has sadly passed away (May 15, 2023). A special two-day event has been scheduled with lectures, workshops, an auction, and a flea market (featuring magicians Keith Fields, Warpo, Alexander Osborn, Keri Kazz, and Bill Flonta).
ALL event proceeds will help support DAVE's family and the heavy financial burdens they now face.
The MAGIC WEEKEND will take place on June 3-4, 2023, at the Triumphant Lutheran Church 22310 East 13 Mile Rd, St. Clair Shores, MI 48082. For more info, contact Keri Kazz at 586-557-8330.
Here's a message from our magical friend, NATE KRANZO. I thought you all might be interested:
I don't know if you have heard but I have recently started selling rare and hard to find magic items. I specialize in unique coin gimmicks and close up apparatus, as well as many hard to find and out of print books. I currently have over 700 items on my eBay store - more than half of those items are rare and out of print magic books. I have started purchasing collections and have accumulated quite a bit of rare and hard to find items. If it's not rare or hard to find. I probably don't have it. 🙂
Most importantly I wanted to give you a heads up as I will be having a dealer table at the flea market that's coming up next weekend (The Magic Capital STAND UP Convention, Sept. 23-24, Colon, MI)! It will be held at the Grand Theater next to the Sterlini Magic Shop.
One of our neighboring clubs, IBM RING 36, has recently informed us that they rescheduled a MAGIC FLEA MARKET, which is now taking place this THURSDAY, MARCH 9, 2023, at 6 PM, at the DAVISON COMMUNITY ENRICHMENT & RECREATION facility, 10183 Lapeer Rd., Davison MI 48423.
RING 36 will be selling magic of all kinds, including vintage mentalism books and manuscripts. There's sure to be some great deals available, and it's all priced to sell!
The DETROIT MAGIC CLUB is happy to support the efforts of our fellow magi and organizations, and we thought this might be of interest to some of you! Happy hunting!
The Ann Arbor Magic Club is hosting a very special event - "The AAMC ANNUAL MAGIC FLEA MARKET", on Sunday, September 26, 202, from 12 NOON to 3 PM. For the location and details, please check out the information in the link below:
This is something you don't want to miss! You can rent a table to sell your "no longer used" magic items or simply attend to find a good deal (you might even consider doing a little of both!). Besides, it's always great to support our fellow IBM RING Members! See ya there!
