Previous Year Meetings

RING 22 is apparently “out of control”, going FULL TILT and saving no expense to bring you an amazing magical event - our next club meeting, on TUESDAY, APRIL 19, 2022, at 7:15 PM EDT, at our very own “stomping ground” (the TRINITY EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH, 749 W. 14 Mile Rd., Clawson, MI)!  Our In-Person meeting (simulcast for those afar) will SPOTLIGHT the nationally acclaimed magician, PATTRICK PRZYSIECKI (a former 1st place winner of the IBM International Magic Convention as well as a veteran Magic Castle performer - need we say more?)!

There’ll also be a lot of magic to learn, with our “hit” attraction, TECH TALK (“I’m All Thumbs: Tips, Tricks, and Ideas”) featuring helpful hints from just about everyone, a MYSTERY WORKSHOP featuring a veteran full-timer (“Inside the Mind of JIM CHARTIER”), a VIRTUAL BOOK TOUR with ROBERT PURCELL, a preview of the latest items with JOSH WILDE/WUNDERGROUND MAGIC SHOP, and a special MAGIC HISTORAMA, featuring a vintage video clip from our secret vaults that you’re sure to enjoy!  There’s always a few EXTRA surprises still under wraps, and most importantly, don’t forget our always supportive WIDE-OPEN PERFORMING STAGE reserved just for YOU!

On behalf of your friends at RING 22, I would like to extend our warmest wishes to all of you as we are now nearing the end of another rather unforgettable year.  While the lingering COVID crisis has made life a little more difficult for everyone, it did not extinguish our love for the art of magic!  Thanks to YOU and your continued support for our magic fraternity (now with club membership represented in several states and Canada), we celebrated a very special “holiday” event (on Tuesday, December 21, 2021) reaching record-breaking proportions with more than 50 members and guests sharing magic, fun, and the usual mayhem!  In the true spirit of the season, numerous special prize give-aways were raffled off while we all enjoyed an excellent meal prepared by club member RICK RAIMONDO and his professional catering service (AllAboutCatering.Com). Of course, there’s never a club activity without plenty of fun and strong magic performances, and our party continued its shenanigans at our regular “Afterglow”, with about 15 members performing more magic into the wee hours of the morning!   Our club has now become a unique adventure, and heartfelt thanks goes to all of YOU for making modern miracles possible!

On a personal note, I cannot help but reflect (especially as we conclude our current year) on some incredible moments – moments not related to MAGIC or the COVID pandemic, but to the wonderful and numerous friendships I have enjoyed – a privileged “byproduct” of our FANTASTIC club.  Not only have I watched and learned from YOUR terrific magic, I’m also extremely lucky to experience extraordinary friendships that I will always cherish.  For that I can only humbly offer my sincerest “thank you” to everyone!  No doubt, many of you share and have experienced those same strong friendships, and let us never forget, that is magic’s TRUE and ULTIMATE goal!  I'd also like to give a wonderful "shoutout" for our fabulous VP, FRED LENTER, and our outstanding TREASURER, ROBERT PURCELL, for their contributions and efforts to once again make our club an enormous success!

Thanks to all of our RING 22 members and guests, our recent club meeting (November 16, 2021), described as a "Gala Madcap Magic Review”, enjoyed a record-breaking 39 IN-PERSON attendees and 21 ONLINE viewers participating at various times while simulcast over the Internet!  Best of all, everyone was treated to stunning extended magic performances from some of the very best magicians in our area, including FRED LENTER, ANDY MAKAR, JOSH WILDE (prestigious owner of Clawson’s world-famous WUNDERGROUND MAGIC SHOP), GORDON RUSS, MIKE THORNTON, and KEITH & LADY SARA FEILDS!  As if this wasn’t enough, six additional talented magicians also shared their brand of magic with us (CHIRS MARDROSIAN, BILL BRANG, MARK LUDTKE, BOB WHITFORD, GARY MYTYCH, and our youngest club member, DREW MATZINGER), wrapping up our meeting with a super-magical BOOM!  Afterwards and following a club tradition, the magic continued at our familiar late night hangout, “The Hideout”, with plenty of magicians "carrying on" in typical RING 22 style! THANKS to YOU for making this (as well as all of our club events) a resounding success!
