Premise
A selected card is found, sight-unseen, by the magician while the deck is in his/her pocket!
Detailed Effect
- The deck is shuffled and a portion is cut off by a participant. They also secretly think of a number between 1-20.
- The card at that number from the top of the deck is memorized and left where it is, in the same position. You take
back the cut-off portion and shuffle it into the rest. - You explain that they are going to program the deck, which will help you find their helplessly lost card. To do this,
they must simply move the same number of cards as their original number from the top to the bottom of the deck,
secretly and silently. You demonstrate this for them, and then hand the deck to the paricipant to complete their task. - Once completed, they drop the deck into your pocket themselves. You reach in and produce a card…"No!" you
exclaim. This is followed by several more No's, and then you take out a huge chunk of the deck, proclaiming No!, and
then another chunk. "I have one card left in my pocket." - With an empty hand, you remove the last card from your pocket…"What was your card?" Once they reveal their card,
you dramatically turn your card around to show a perfect match!
